MACHUPICCHU

Arrival in Lima . We will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel. Night in Lima.

Today, we will visit pucusana , it is  a fishermen town great place to see and photograph Red-legged, Guanay and neotropical Cormorant, The pretty. Inca tern, Humbolt Penguin, South America Sea Lyons and many more the we willd drive to pantanos de villa.

When we arrive in Cusco, we will drive a short distance to Huayllarcocha Lagoon, where we hope to see the impressive Andean Goose, Andean Teal, Cinnamon Teal, Puna Teal, Andean Duck, and Puna Ibis. We may also add the Andean Swallow to the list! After all this wonderful birding, we will head to El Salvador, stopping at new hummingbird feeders to see the endemic Bearded Mountaineer, Giant Hummingbird, Green-and-White Trainbearer, Black-tailed Trainbearer, and Green-tailed Trainbearer. We will also enjoy our picnic lunch while watching these jewels.

Arriving at the Pakaritampu Hotel in the afternoon, we’ll have time to birdwatch in the gardens, which should yield Green-and-White Hummingbirds, White-bellied Hummingbirds, and other spectacular species.

We will get an early start heading up to Abra Malaga Pass, at 12,800 ft elevation. On the way, we will stop to look for the endemic Chestnut-breasted Mountain Finch and Creamy-crested Spinetail. We will also have a good chance of adding White-tufted Sunbeam to the list. Before actually reaching the pass, we will stop to look for Streak-throated Canastero, Andean Flicker, and Andean Goose.

Then, we will visit a new reserve with nice hummingbird feeders, where we hope to see the Sword-billed Hummingbird, Green-and-White Hummingbird, White-bellied Hummingbird, Shining Sunbeam, and White-bellied Woodstar.

After lunch, we will take a short walk to the train station, where we will take a 2-hour ride to Aguas Calientes. The train travels along the Urubamba River, where we will look for Torrent Duck and White-capped Dipper on the fly.

We will take a bus to the famous archaeological complex of Macchupicchu, where we will take a tour of the ruins. While exploring this area we will look for Inca Wren and Mountain Caracara, among others we will enjoy our Lunch at the restaurantr next to the ruins.

Aftern lunch, we will take the bus to Aguas calientes and birding there in the afternoon.

Night in Agua Calientes.

Today, we will take our train back to Ollantaytambo and then transfer to Cusco. On the way to Cusco, we will stop at Piuray Lake, looking for White-tufted Grebe, Silvery Grebe, Slate-colored Coot, Puna Ibis, Yellow-billed Pintail, and the spectacular Many-colored Rush-Tyrant. If we remember to “look up” amidst all the spectacular scenery, we may also add the Andean Swallow to the list!

Today, we will enjoy the Cusco City tour. You will be impressed by these magnificent sites.
After lunch, we will take our flight to Cusco.
Night in Lima.

We will visit Lomas de Lachay in the morning and we come back to airport on time to take your flight home.
